Why is my shipping fee so high?
I am new to selling on Amazon, but I am having trouble understanding why my shipping cost is so high. The shipping price is so much higher than others I have seen. I am shipping 25 boxes (20x15x7) 41lbs from California to 5 different locations along the FBA network, using UPS as well. Is this normal?

Hello @Seller_tn4hsLPHbckni
Christine here from Amazon Forums.
Welcome to our forums.
There could be a few reasons why you're seeing higher shipping costs than expected. Let me break it down for you:
- No Partnered Carrier Rates Yet: If you're a new seller, you might not have access to Amazon's partnered carrier rates right away.
- Not Using Amazon’s Partnered Carrier Rates: If you're not using Amazon's partnered carriers, you could be missing out on lower rates.
- Incorrect Box Dimensions or Weight: Double-checking your box sizes and weights is important. Small mistakes here can lead to significant cost differences.
- Inefficient Distribution Across FBA Centers: If your products aren’t spread out efficiently across Amazon’s fulfillment centers, it can lead to higher shipping costs.
- Not Consolidating Shipments: When possible, consolidating multiple shipments into one can save a lot.
Some steps to reduce cost are:
- Use Amazon’s Partnered Carrier Rates: Make sure you're using UPS through Amazon's partnered rates, as they offer better pricing.
- Verify Box Dimensions and Weights: Small inaccuracies in box size or weight can lead to significant cost increases, so it’s important to get these right.
- Consolidate Shipments: If you have a lot of smaller shipments, try to consolidate them into fewer, larger ones.
- Check for the Small and Light Program: If your products qualify, you might be able to get cheaper shipping through Amazon’s Small and Light program.
- Consider Amazon LTL: If you have high volume, check if Amazon’s Less Than Truckload (LTL) shipping option might save you money.
Also, you can reach out to our seller support so they can work with you and help you to understand or check if there is something that is not correctly set up in your settings.
Hope you have a great day!
