OTDR and A to Z Claim Protection Question
Hi all!
Had a customer place an order. We have AHT and SSA enabled. We bought the shipping through Amazon, USPS Priority Mail. However, when purchased the label was given the "late delivery risk" by Amazon even though it should not have been. We only have USPS Priority enabled in our shipping options and the label was bought same day. Yet, it was still given the "late delivery risk" label, and we went ahead and purchased it. The package was supposed to be shipped on the 1st of March and received by the 5th of March. We shipped it on the 1st, yet it wasn't received until the 15th of March. Beside the point, but this is ridiculous and what is going on with the Post Office?? So many delayed packages. Anyway, if the customer files an A to Z claim for being so late, will Amazon not cover it because of the "late delivery risk" label? Even though it should not have had that label to begin with?
Thanks in advance!!

Well, it had the disclaimer readily available for you, so not sure if Amazon would cover it seeing that they "warned" you prior to purchase.

You're right-USPS has been a mess lately with delays, and it's frustrating when you do everything right, but Amazon still flags your shipment as late. Regarding the A-to-Z claim: Since you used Amazon’s Buy Shipping and shipped on time, Amazon should cover you. In the Safe-T However, the "late delivery risk" label complicates things. If Amazon pre-determined a late risk on the label, they might use it as a reason to deny Safe-T coverage, arguing that you "knowingly" shipped with a potential delay.

Since it was late you'll be protected against hits to your on-time delivery metric however if the customer claims they never got it you would not be protected.

Wow, I didn't know that if they claim didn't recieve, that it's not protected. Why is this??
Seller_Sram36TnVt73c
You have to choose a claims-protected shipping service to be protected.

You mean an Amazon label that has the protection badges and not a label with "late delivery risk," right? And if the label you buy has the badges, it would cover a tracking that says delivered but customer claims they didn't recieve, right? Thanks for the time and any clarification!
My issue is that even though I bought a label with "late delivery risk" it shouldn't have had that in the firat place. Hope that makes sense.

If you buy your claims-protected shipping on Amazon you are protected from claims of not received whether or not it shows delivered.
IfIf the correct options are not available I pick a shipping option for the following day to see if that works (just make sure to ship it on or before the Amazon shipping deadline).. it makes no sense but its the only work around I found other than perhaps correcting your shipping templates.

In the future, if a package is shipped on time and delivered on time, Amazon will be responsible for resolving the issue under their A-to-Z Guarantee or Amazon Shipping policies, as long as it was shipped using Amazon's Buy Shipping services. You should advise the customer to file an A-to-Z Guarantee claim for further resolution.

Note: "Late Delivery Risk" labels are ineligible for protections.

Hello @Seller_BYn3ICHDweKIc. Thanks for checking in about that recent shipment.
Amazon Buy Shipping protections
Frequently asked questions about on-time delivery rate (OTDR)
The above links cover Buy Shipping protections: Claims protections and OTDR protection. For both categories, protection requires the purchase of a shipping service with an OTDR- or Claims-Protected label on Amazon Buy Shipping.
If you believe there's an issue with how your AHT/SSA is calculating shipping options, your best next step would be to contact seller support and request information.
For Claims Protection: Amazon Buy Shipping shipments qualify for A-to-Z claim protections against delivery issues when all of the following conditions are true: the order was shipped on time using a shipping service with an OTDR- or Claims-Protected label on Amazon Buy Shipping, and the seller did not refund the buyer for the shipment. It is not a requirement for the order to be delivered on time.

If it was marked late delivery risk and you chose that, it wont be covered.
