A buyer (order # 114-4194822-0475468) bought a copy of the tenth edition of Criminal Law and Its Processes. We have photographic evidence confirming that the correct book was shipped. The correct book was delivered to the buyer on January 17. However, on February 4, the buyer submitted a return request, citing “item defective or doesn’t work” and claiming they received the wrong edition. On February 6, the buyer returned an entirely different book, Property Law. Since then, we have attempted to contact the buyer twice regarding the incorrect book return, but have received no response. The buyer either misrepresented the situation or confused this order with another order of his.
We have made multiple attempts today to issue a refund, charging a 99% or 100% restocking fee. However, the pending refund disappears within one to two hours. We noticed on the seller forum that other sellers have encountered similar issues before, where refunds do not go through.
Based on past experiences, we believe Amazon will issue a full refund ($279.99), at our expense, due to the refund continually being "cancelled/disappearing/not processing." As a result, we would lose money and be stuck with that loss if the refund is not processed within the next 48 hours. We would prefer that we issue $0 refund and the buyer file an A-to-Z claim so we can provide our representation.
