TONS of ad clicks- no purchases...this just started, ad cost up 400%, sales down 80%
nothing on our end changed over the past 2 weeks, however our ad cost is up 400% and our sales are plummeting. We are showing up, priced very competitively (often slightly lower than comp), however we are getting a TON of ad clicks, and almost no sales. To me this is VERY strange, as it literally started 2 weeks ago and was like someone flipped a light switch.... any one else seeing this?

Also experiencing wild ad performance. In every campaign there's 1 to 2 keywords that have gone insane. Usually broad match. We're talking 150 clicks and 0 sales. I think Amazon is broadening the definition of match types. I paused 1/3 of my campaigns yesterday and surprisingly having the best day of the month today. Spend hasn't decreased, but ACOS is at a good level.

How many reviews? How do they compare to the competition's? Are you shipping FBM or FBA? When you load the detail page are more attractive options showing in the sponsored product carousels?

A couple things: without reviews, you will need to cut prices to the BONE to get sales if there are competing products with good reviews.
Also, if you are selling FBM, and your competitors are FBA, your offer may not even appear in the top results particularly for people on the west coast as the shipping time is too long.
Lastly, what you described with how you are asking for reviews goes against Amazon's review policy. Considering you havent gotten a single review using this method, I would stop right away and look into other alternatives, either services that are condoned by Amazon or Vine.

Thanks for posting about this, @Seller_yk5i9QjAP87M3- and I am glad to see some discussion and guidance from the community already in the thread.
I hope you see the sales trend reverse soon, and can help share some resources on optimizing campaigns, optimizing budgets, and keyword targeting best practices in case there is any helpful content in there relevant to your campaign.
If you do have questions around your set match type, I would refer you to opening a case with Advertiser support for more personalized troubleshooting though!
Thanks again,
Danny
