Getting new UPC codes

My listings were hijacked in late July or early August and after working almost 8 months with support now they tell me my UPC codes aren't valid and they will no longer help me until I have valid UPC codes (I had the UPCs that were accepted over 10 years ago but no longer are).

I'm in Canada and sell to the USA only, does this change anything to the process of me getting UPC codes? Do I need to have my brand registered and is that also different since I'm in Canada selling to the USA?

Will I also be able to keep my existing ASINs and reviews and update the UPC codes or would I have to make new ASINs?

I don't understand why they allowed scammers to overtake my business in no time at all yet after 8 months of working with support my listings still aren't fixed.

I'd be happy to jump in here and help! Do you happen to have a Seller Support Case regarding this issue? If not, I would first start off by creating a case here to have them look in to your issue, and determine the necessary resolution path/steps.

Please note that we verify the authenticity of product UPCs by checking the GS1 database. UPCs that do not match the information provided by GS1 will be considered invalid. Obtain your UPCs directly from GS1 (and not from other third parties selling UPC licenses) to ensure the appropriate information is reflected in the GS1 database.
