FBA Export

FBA Shipping Programs and Export policy

Note: Currently, FBA Export in the Netherlands is limited to exports to Belgium only.
Note: Any Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) related information on this page applies to sellers, who sell internationally on the site. If you are looking to list and sell your products in any of our other marketplaces, visit Amazon Global Selling.

The FBA Shipping Programs and Export (“FBA Export”) allows you to fulfill orders of eligible products on to a mailing address that is not within the Netherlands. With this program, you will be able to expand your business to more than 80 countries without dealing with the complexities of selling internationally at no additional charge or effort for you.

With this program, you can expand your business to more than 80 countries without dealing with the complexities of selling internationally, at no additional cost or effort for you.

By participating in FBA Export, you agree to the program’s terms and conditions.

FBA Export enrollment

FBA Shipping Program and Export currently offers two options:
  • Disabled: Only customers with mailing addresses in the Netherlands can order your FBA products.
  • Worldwide: Customers with postal addresses in more than 80 countries including the European Union can order your FBA products.

Each seller account is automatically enabled for "Worldwide" unless you disable this program.

By enrolling in Worldwide FBA Export, you authorize Amazon and its affiliates to determine to export goods out of the UK (including sign a commercial invoice) on your behalf, as required. This commercial invoice will itemize and describe the contents of the shipment and authorize brokers and other third parties to execute additional documents necessary for the export of your products.

Certain items are controlled for export under the laws of the US, United Kingdom, the European Union and Individual European Union Member States and cannot be listed for FBA Export.

Typically this is because they:

  • have a specific military use.
  • have a dual civilian and military use.
  • contain or are made from endangered or protected species.
  • can be used for repression or torture.
  • have cultural significance.
  • contain substances that damage the environment or ozone layer.

How to edit your FBA Export settings

FBA export settings are marketplace specific. To edit your FBA Export settings, click Fulfillment by Amazon under the Settings drop-down menu in Seller Central. You can edit FBA Export settings under the Shipping Programs and Export Settings feature. You can choose to discontinue exporting your FBA products at any time by changing your settings in that same page or exclude an ASIN from this program by clicking here.

Check for Export-eligible products

For a list of products from your FBA inventory that are eligible for FBA Export, go to the Reports tab, click Fulfillment by Amazon, and under Inventory click Show more to access the Exportable Inventory report. You can check the list, even if you have FBA Export disabled. We update this report periodically, so if you have no exportable products now, check again later. Find the report here.

In the FBA Export program, you use product listings in your Seller Central account to sell FBA Export-eligible products to international customers shopping on Amazon does not charge an additional seller fee.

The following statuses will appear in the report for products that are restricted from international shipping or that are pending review:

  • ASINs that cannot be shipped cross-border (Ineligible exportability status): To view products that are excluded from FBA Export, go to FBA prohibited products.
  • ASINs not yet processed (Un-addressable exportability status): These are items that are pending review to determine eligibility. We process new ASINs for eligibility once a month. Ensure that your product contains either a full product description or bullet point to ensure that it is processed for eligibility in the next cycle.

Amazon generates a report that helps you identify your products that are eligible for FBA Export, fulfills your international orders, handles import duty and customs clearance where applicable, and ships your product to the international buyer’s address.

FBA Export and product distribution agreements

Exclude products or countries from FBA Export

If you have concerns that distribution agreements might limit where your products can be sold overseas, you can opt out of FBA Export, exclude certain products from the program or exclude country and destinations from export.

You may exclude specific ASINs from the FBA Export program from the FBA Export: Exclude countries/regions per product page.

You may exclude all of your products from being exportable to any country from the Countries/regions excluded from FBA Export page.

For international Multi-Channel Fulfillment orders, you must identify the destination country when you submit the order.

  • International customers can visit your home store and shop for products eligible for international shipping.
  • Amazon fulfills your international orders and ships your product to the international customer's address.
  • International customers pay international shipping. This is at no extra cost to you.
  • You can determine what products you want to exclude from the international shipping in addition to Amazon-provided eligibility check.

When processing customer returns for units fulfilled via FBA export, Amazon’s FBA Return Policy is used to determine whether a unit is eligible to be returned. You do not pay any shipping cost for FBA Export customer returns.

International returns for FBA Export

With FBA Export, Amazon provides fulfillment and customer service for your orders, including processing buyer returns. We use Amazon’s return policies to determine whether a unit is eligible to be returned. However, to ensure a good buyer experience, we'll make case-by-case exceptions and accept returns for units fulfilled through FBA that may be past the stated return timeframe. You do not pay any shipping costs for FBA Export customer returns.

When a buyer returns a product, the standard Amazon returns policy will be followed. If the returned product is received in sellable condition, it will be returned to the original seller’s inventory. If the returned product is not in sellable condition, we'll determine who is at fault (Amazon or the buyer) and provide reimbursement according to the FBA lost and damaged inventory reimbursement policy.

The buyer must pay the return shipping costs if there is no product defect. If there is a product defect, the buyer pays and ships the product back to Amazon's warehouse. We will compensate the buyer for the actual return shipping cost when the parcel is received. You do not pay any shipping costs for FBA Export customer returns.

For more information, go to FBA customer returns policy.
